Before students take the Pediatric Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS) Provider Course, each student is required to complete both the Precourse Self-Assessment AND the Pre-Course Work module. This helps evaluate knowledge necessary for the student to be successful in the PALS Provider Course and determines the need for additional review and practice.
A minimum score of 84% must be achieved to pass the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment. There is no limit to the number of times the student can take the Precourse Self-Assessment. This certificate must be presented to the PALS Course Director before a student can take an PALS Provider Course along with the Pre-Course Work Certificate of Completion.
